Spinal Life Australia

In 2016, Spinal Life Australia will be hosting Accessibility Weekend in Queensland for the first time, thanks to the support of Independence Australia.

Spinal Life is a leader in providing advocacy, specialist therapy and support for people with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities.

Established in 1960, the organisation has a long history of working in partnership with members and clients to assist them to reach their lifestyle goals.

Spinal Life’s services include allied health, with physiotherapists, occupational therapists and registered nurses providing mobility, seating and equipment solutions, driving and workplace assessments and more.

Spinal Life also delivers personal support and home care, with an experienced team available around the clock in towns and cities across Queensland. These services are offered at home and at work and also include domestic assistance, lifestyle support to attend appointments, activities, holidays and events, as well as transition support from hospital to home.

In addition, Spinal Life offers employment assistance, advocacy and equitable access advice, peer support in hospital and the community, along with regional member networks. The team are focused on making decisions with people, not for them, to assist them to live independently, maintain social networks, and enjoy a better quality of life.
